Privacy Policy

This policy describes information handled when a visitor uses Platte County Court Docket, how that information is used, and the limited circumstances in which it may be shared. By using the resource, you accept these practices.

Data You Give Us Directly

Search Queries

A name or case number entered in a site search tool is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query under its own practices. Platte County Court Docket does not keep a separate log of those search terms.

Messages and Contact Submissions

An email sent to us may be retained to respond to the request. It is kept within the organization unless disclosure is required by law.

Data We Gather Automatically

When a page loads, servers may receive routine technical details about the visit:

  • The IP address assigned to your device
  • Which browser you are using and its version
  • Your device type and operating system
  • The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
  • The site that sent you here, if any
  • Timestamps for each page view

Cookies and Analytics

Cookies are small device files used to understand aggregate use, including page traffic and navigation patterns. Analytics providers help process that aggregate information. Browser settings can block cookies, although some site functions may then work differently.

What We Do With This Data

We use the limited information described above for site operation, delivery, and measurement:

  • Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
  • Sending your search requests to the right partner service
  • Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
  • Tracking down and fixing technical issues
  • Showing ads that may line up with your interests

No Court-Record Data on File

This resource does not host, compile, maintain, or sell a database of court dockets or personal case-record information. It provides routing information for Platte County records held by the Circuit Clerk, the Circuit Court of the Sixth Judicial Circuit, and Missouri Case.net. Court access is governed by Missouri Court Operating Rules and the Missouri Sunshine Law, including RSMo §610.023; court-case requests in Platte County are routed to the Circuit Clerk rather than the County Clerk’s administrative-record process. The resource is not a consumer reporting agency, and visitor information is not assembled into consumer reports about third parties.

Third-Party Search Partners

Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information entered there is governed by the provider’s privacy policy and retention rules, not by this policy. Review the provider’s terms before sending a query.

Links to Other Websites

Links may lead to Circuit Clerk pages, Missouri courts services, court portals, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor leaves this resource, the destination’s policy controls its handling of data.

Advertising providers may perform their own cross-site activity measurement or advertising delivery. That processing takes place on their systems.

Who Might See Your Data

We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be available to:

  • Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
  • Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
  • Ad networks that place ads on our pages
  • Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

How We Protect Your Data

Reasonable safeguards are used for information we handle, but no internet-based system can promise complete security. A breach-free service cannot be guaranteed.

Users Under 18

This resource is intended for adults, and it does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. Information discovered to have been submitted by a minor will be addressed as appropriate.

Your Data Rights

Applicable law may provide additional data rights. Court-record access in Missouri is separately controlled by the Missouri Sunshine Law and the electronic-access limits in Court Operating Rule 2.04. At a minimum, you may:

  • Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
  • Have us fix information that is wrong
  • Request that we erase your data
  • Opt out of certain kinds of data processing

Updates to This Policy

We may revise this privacy policy. A revised version will appear here with an updated effective date.

Effective date: August 29, 2026
